Hosting a wedding on a budget? Here are some excellent cost cutting tips for your wedding invitation

The costs of a wedding are continuously on the rise and so attempting to keep within a budget can often be difficult. Most couples unfortunately have to exclude something they really want because it just is not affordable.

You now needn’t do that with your wedding invitations. Your invitation will be the very first thing your guests will see and will be the instigator for initial impressions about your big day, so a nice wedding invitation is essential. However, how is this possible when you are trying to cut costs? We have the answer for you; below are some excellent tips to help lower the cost of your wedding invitations without cutting on the quality.

  •  Order your invitations at least 4 months in advance of the big day. If you order last minute and try to rush the printer, you will almost certainly increase the costs of your wedding invitation. Stick to your timeline guide and order your invites early.
  •  Oder 25- 20 extra invitations along with your order. Buying in bulk will cost much less than getting extras made at a later date.
  • Avoid buying separate reception cards if the ceremony and reception are at the same venue. You can easily mention the reception on the main invitation.
  • Do it yourself! Make your own invitations with DIY kits. These will be considerably cheaper than if you bought them from a store and will look much more personal.
  • List the many different types of wedding stationery that you want, for example response cards, place cards, thank you cards and so on and order these at the same time as your invitations. You can then negotiate a better discount from ordering in bulk.
  • Alternatively, you can just not have response cards at all. This will save you money on printing and postage stamps.
  • Be sure to proof read your wedding invitation. Read it very carefully to make sure there are no mistakes. Reprinting because of an error will cost money.
